CHAMPIONSHIP – COACH REPORT
Championship were determined to replicate last weeks effort, to take home the 4 points and make sure they were playing consistently across the 4 quarters.
The key word tonight was fight, with neither side prepared to give an inch with both hunting for the points. Errors plagued the team early as Express got off to an early lead, but championship settled and came back to be 4 goals up at quarter time. A strong Booroondara defence end put the pressure on us, but our defence end, ensured we had plenty of opportunity as the girls lead at every turn to win by 6 goals to string two important wins together.
Final Score: 45/39
Best on Court: Adrienne Harris
DIVISION ONE – COACH REPORT
A strong 4 quarter performance earned Div One another win for the season. Up against Boroondara who had also come off their first win we stuck to our game plan and played excellent skillful netball. Claudia Whitfort was once again best on court providing timely turnovers and excellent drives out of defence. Coming away with a 7 goal win. We look forward to taking on City West on Sunday.
Final Score: 49/42
Best on court: Claudia Whitfort
19/UNDER – COACH REPORT
Again 19s got off to a slow start. It took a half of netball and a number of changes to get the matchups right. There were some brilliant passages of netball, but a lack of early defensive pressure and silly skill errors in attack saw us lose the first half by 16. To the girls credit they switched on in the second half to win the half by 1. Many positives to take into next game on Sunday vs Falcons.
